5 bold predictions for the Steelers against the Lions

After surviving a late rally by the Bears, the Steelers won their fourth consecutive game and sit at 5-3 as they welcome the winless Lions to Heinz Field.

By no means was it pretty, but the Steelers continue to win. After leading by as many as 14, Pittsburgh allowed the Chicago Bears to mount a fourth quarter comeback and take the lead before Chris Boswell won the game on a field goal with under a minute to play.

Pittsburgh will host the hapless Detroit Lions in Week 10. Can they get to 6-3 and take command of the wildcard race? Or will Dan Campbell get his first win as a head coach?

What should we expect between the Steelers and Lions?

Expect a lot of carries for Najee Harris

This isn’t anything new, but the run game should be more of a focal point than usual against Detroit. The Lions are allowing the fourth most rushing yards per game this season, and this could be a bounce back game for the Steelers offensive line.

The Steelers didn’t run the ball well at all against Chicago. Harris only netted 62 yards on 2.8 yards a carry. For whatever reason, the Steelers tend to get away from what works. They marched down the field on their opening drive, which ended in a Harris rushing touchdown.

The Steelers should run the ball a minimum of 30 times against the Lions. That doesn’t mean Harris has to have all of those carries, but he should get between 23 and 25 rushes. The gameplan for this game should mirror that of the Denver game- feed Harris and get out of the way.
