Maikol Beaumont dominated Edixon Perez by split decision on Saturday and retained the World Boxing Association (WBA) Fedebol super bantamweight belt at the Centro Recreacional Yesterday, in Turmero, Venezuela.
The judges’ scorecards were 87-84, 83-88 and 86-85, evidenced a disputed bout that leaned in favor of Beaumont and that allowed him to retain the regional crown of the pioneer organization for the first time after the nine rounds.
