Broncos: Teddy Bridgewater leaves Ravens game due to concussion

Denver Broncos quarterback Teddy Bridgewater left Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens due to a concussion.

The Denver Broncos made it to a 3-0 record thus far into the 2021 season due to the play of quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. Their first true challenge came in Week 4 on Sunday when they faced the Baltimore Ravens.

Unfortunately for the Broncos, Bridgewater was spotted being entering the medical tent on the sidelines to be evaluated for a concussion at halftime. Backup and 2019 second-round draft pick Drew Lock started the half for Denver.

Shortly afterwards, Bridgewater was ruled out for the remainder of the game due to a concussion, meaning that Lock will have to try and lead the Broncos to victory.

Teddy Bridgewater ruled out for Broncos due to concussion

Now with Bridgewater ruled out, his day ends after completing 7-of-16 pass attempts for 67 yards and a touchdown, which came in the first half on a three-yard pass to tight end Noah Fant.

Entering Sunday’s game, Bridgewater threw for 826 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions on a 76.8 completion percentage through three weeks.

Lock lost out on the starting job this past summer in a competition with Bridgewater. Last season, the former Missouri Tigers signal caller completed 57.0-percent of his passes for 2,594 yards, 14 touchdowns and 15 interceptions, the latter of which was tied for the most in the NFL (Carson Wentz).

Denver’s undefeated start to the season will rely on the arm of Lock. As for Bridgewater, his status for Week 5 against the Pittsburgh Steelers will be worth monitoring.
