Draymond Green announced that he will not be participating in the 2022 All-Star Game due to injury.

The NBA announced the official reserves players for the 2022 NBA All-Star Game in Cleveland, Ohio. Among them was Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors, who earned his fourth appearance in the All-Star Game.

Green found out that he made the All-Star Game during an appearance on TNT’s “Inside the NBA,” but said that he will not be participating due to his lower back disc injury. The Athletic’s Shams Charania says that NBA commissioner Adam Silver will choose his replacement.

Draymond Green to miss NBA All-Star Game

Geen had been sidelined since Golden State’s 96-82 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Jan. 9. When meeting with the media on Thursday, Feb. 3, Green said that he does not believe that he will need surgery, but estimates that he will miss between 3-4 weeks with the injury.

In Green’s absence, the Warriors have won 10 of their last 14 games. They are currently on an eight-game winning streak heading into their Feb. 7 matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

This season, Green is averaging 7.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.4 assists while shooting 53.7-percent from the field through 34 games.
