Golden Tate calls out Seahawks fans for ‘jumping ship’

Seattle Seahawks fans are frustrated with the team’s performance in 2021, but that doesn’t mean they should forget the recent past.

The Seahawks have made the playoffs nine out of the last 11 years. That doesn’t put Pete Carroll above any criticism, but it does mean that he’s earned at least some forgiveness from fans despite the Seahawks 2-5 start to the regular season, most of which has come without star quarterback Russell Wilson.

Seattle is operating with Alex Collins and Geno Smith in their backfield. It makes for difficult offensive consistency, and a defense that no longer resembles the Legion of Boom of old. No, this team is no modeled after the 2014 Super Bowl champions.

Seahawks fans are frustrated, and it’s easy to see why. They’ve been spoiled by recent success.

Seahawks: Golden Tate calls out spoiled Seattle fans

In a response to Seattle fans upset with head coach Pete Carroll, former Seahawks wide receiver Golden Tate finally lost it.

“Bro. Seahawks have gone to the playoffs the last 9 of 11 years…. Im so confused how you jump ship Bc they are struggling in the best division in football this year. Besides New England who else has been to the playoffs 9 of the last 11 years?”

This is a fair point. Before Carroll took his coaching talents to Seattle, the Seahawks were mired in mediocrity. Now, they’re one of the more consistent franchises in the NFC. That’s a huge improvement, and one Seahawks fans ought to take pride in.

Carroll is 70 years old. He likely doesn’t have too many years left coaching. But, for now, Seahawks fans ought to appreciate what they have in him, even in a down season.
