Mason Crosby had an incredibly bad day for the Packers

Green Bay Packers kicker Mason Crosby had a day to forget in the team’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

The Green Bay Packers were able to escape with a win going up against the Cincinnati Bengals, but Mason Crosby sure made life more difficult for them. Crosby entered the game making 24 consecutive field goals. He then followed that up with three makes to get to 27.

However, the veteran kicker struggled mightily on Sunday after that in the overtime showdown with the Bengals. Crosby missed three field goals in this one plus a PAT. While Crosby nailed the game-winner from 49 yards out, you just can’t forget about how things went in crunch time for him.

Mason Crosby really had a nightmare day for the Packers

Crosby had the chance to win it for the Packers late in regulation, but his kick went wide left. Then in overtime, following an interception by Joe Burrow, Green Bay was given the ball deep in Cincinnati territory. It looked like Green Bay was going to be gifted a win. This came after Crosby lost the coin toss too.

However, Matt LaFleur clearly played for the field goal despite Crosby missing his previous two attempts. Well, that came back to haunt LaFleur, as Crosby’s attempt in the extra session also went wide left. Again, Crosby did win it with his 49-yarder, but he needed to deliver much earlier in the contest.

After that OT miss, the Bengals got the ball back and a huge 21-yard pass completion from Burrow to JaMarr Chase set up a 49-yard field-goal attempt for Evan McPherson. Well, he pulled a Crosby and the ball went left. Unreal.

Had Crosby been clutch like we had been so used to seeing, Green Bay would have never been in the position they were late in overtime. Crosby is a Green Bay legend, but he looked the opposite of that in Sunday’s matchup on the road.
