How in the world does a lightning delay occur in an indoor stadium? Trust me, I’m not sure either. The start to Raiders-Chargers has been delayed thanks to Monday Night Football.
We could’ve sworn there was a roof up there. Instead, the Chargers and Raiders will have to wait, along with all football fans.
As if primetime football games didn’t go late enough.
The Raiders and Chargers are battling it out for one of the top spots in the AFC West. Vegas is undefeated, while the Chargers are hanging on one loss.
Chargers game delayed: When is kickoff?
The Chargers and Raiders will kick off at 8:55 p.m. ET. That will be a 35-minute delay.
Where do the Chargers play stadium?
SoFi Stadium is located in Inglewood, CA. It hosts both the Rams and Chargers, in similar fashion to Metlife Stadium in the Meadowlands, NJ.
Monday Night Football: Chargers and Raiders delayed
Football fans weren’t remotely ready for this, as an indoor stadium isn’t supposed to have this issue!

There were many more where that came from.
The Raiders are arguably favored on the road, as they’re expected to pack SoFi Stadium. Derek Carr even said it always feels like a home game when they head to Los Angeles. As savage as that was, there is a lot of truth to it.
Monday Night Football delayed
Because there is no Manning cast on Monday night, the regular ESPN crew will have to entertain us for an extra half-hour or so as we wait for the return of actual football.
Thankfully, Eli and Peyton Manning will be back in tow come Week 7, but that’s three weeks without ESPN’s accidental invention.
In moments like these, we miss the Mannings the most.
