The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys are among the NFL teams that should be on upset alert in Week 14.

We are heading down the stretch in the NFL’s longest season ever and the potential for upsets that ruin a team’s playoff positioning is sky-high. The Minnesota Vikings suffered the most damaging loss of the season in Week 13 when they fell to the winless Detroit Lions at the gun while the Buffalo Bills went from potential AFC favorites to fighting for their playoff lives after getting tripped up by the New England Patriots.

The Bills were one of the teams on our upset alert radar last week and their failure to heed that warning cost them dearly. Find out which three teams need to be very careful with their matchups this week with all odds referenced in this story provided courtesy of the FanDuel Sportsbook.

3. NFL teams on upset alert in Week 14 – Carolina Panthers

Carolina actually ended up benefitting from their Week 13 bye week since a lot of NFC teams on the fringes of the wild card race suffered damaging losses. The end result sees the Panthers just a game out of the final NFC Wild Card spot but still in trouble due to a subpar 3-5 conference record.

A pair of matchups with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers still awaits the Panthers, as well as a home date with the Bills next week, but they have to be careful not to overlook their matchup with the Atlanta Falcons in Week 14. FanDuel has set Carolina as a three-point favorite in this game, which is not a huge sign of faith in the Panthers since they haven’t looked great (outside of a one-off performance in Arizona) in months.

Christian McCaffrey isn’t walking through the door to help after being placed on season-ending IR while there is also an unnecessary distraction in the mix when head coach Matt Rhule fired offensive coordinator Joe Brady on Sunday. Atlanta is also in need of a win in this divisional matchup, making this game a very dangerous one for a potentially distracted Panthers’ team.
