The Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys are among the NFL teams that should be on upset alert in Week 8.
The final weekend of October has arrived as the NFL season is approaching its midway point. Contenders are starting to separate themselves from the rest of the pack largely by avoiding upsets, a feat that the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers couldn’t avoid in Week 7.
There are some big spreads this week but it won’t be smooth sailing for all of the favorites on Sunday. Let’s take a look at the three teams that should be on upset alert in Week 8 with all odds referenced in this story coming courtesy of the FanDuel Sportsbook.
3. NFL teams that should be on upset alert in Week 8 – Tennessee Titans
The Titans are on an absolute roll right now, ripping off consecutive home wins against the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs to establish themselves as one of the top contenders in the AFC. Sunday’s victory against the Chiefs was particularly impressive since Kansas City limited Derrick Henry to 86 yards on 29 carries, forcing the Tennessee defense to step up in a big-time fashion.
Week 8 brings a road trip to Lucas Oil Stadium to take on the Indianapolis Colts, who the Titans defeated 25-16 at home in Week 3. Oddsmakers have set Tennessee as 1.5 point favorites which makes sense since it is a road game and the Colts have gotten red hot.
Indianapolis has won three of its past four games after an 0-3 start and could easily be 4-0 over that stretch if they hadn’t choked away a fourth-quarter lead against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5. This game is also much more important to the Colts so Tennessee could get picked off if they aren’t on their game here.
