Of course, Dan Shaughnessy has a terrible Trevor Story take

Only one month into his Boston Red Sox tenure and Trevor Story is being ripped to shreds by none other than Dan Shaughnessy of the Boston Globe.

Shaughnessy was especially critical of Story “ducking” the media for questions after a four-strikeout performance at Fenway. Story is in his first season with Boston since coming over from the Colorado Rockies in his free agency. While he may be new in town, he is already experiencing the wrath of one of Boston’s most notable sportswriters. Story will never live up to Jeff Kent.

It was not even 9:00 a.m. ET on Friday morning before Shaughnessy chose violence on Twitter.

Shaughnessy’s colleague Alex Speier mentioned Story was unaware that the media wanted to speak with him after the game.

No amount of facts was going to stop Shaughnessy from doubling-down on his flaming hot take.

Dan Shaughnessy has worst Trevor Story take ever because of course he does

Nothing will ever compare to the 1986 Boston Celtics. No athlete will ever surpass Larry Bird or the most underrated second baseman to ever play at the major-league level, Jeff Kent. It may be a different Story in Beantown these days, but it’s the same old song and dance, my friend, when it comes to Boston’s beloved scribe. Not even David Ortiz could get love from this Boston columnist.

Even if the Red Sox are struggling mightily out of the gate, Story is still trying to figure out how to make it work for him playing in a winning environment. Not only that, but the former Rockies shortstop is being tasked with manning a new position on the other side of the second base bag. In time, he can be the next Dustin Pedroia, but this is a slow process that cannot be microwaved.

Ultimately, Story cannot let Shaughnessy get under his skin. He is the new flavor of the month when it comes to Boston sports hate. There will be somebody on the Celtics who will have a terrible series that will cost Boston another championship parade. In due time, Shaughnessy will harpoon that poor basketball player just like he did Story. Wait until football season finally arrives.

Story may have worn the golden sombrero, but who saw Shaughnessy turning on him this fast?
