Some tough news has come in for the Green Bay Packers, as wideout Randall Cobb is dealing with a concerning injury.

Just when you thought life was going perfectly for the Green Bay Packers, the team is now dealing with some adversity. More specifically, veteran wideout Randall Cobb is the one who has been proverbially knocked down.

On Thursday, the Packers announced that Cobb is dealing with an injury and that he’s going to be out for a while. Obviously, this means he will be out for Sunday’s showdown with the Bears, but it’s also unknown at this time when the offense can expect him back on the field.

Randall Cobb is dealing with a serious groin injury for the Packers

Obviously, this is a bummer for the Packers. Green Bay partially brought back Cobb to make Aaron Rodgers happy, but he’s also still a gamer and has been a solid option for the aerial attack. Groin injuries are tricky for receivers too, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if we don’t see Cobb come back before the end of the regular season.

With the Packers about to lock up the NFC North title, Matt LaFleur and Co. could choose to take their time with Cobb and just make sure that he’s close to 100 percent healthy for the postseason. After a disastrous start to the year against the Saints, Green Bay has looked like one of the best teams around.

With the Packers playing so well, they really are looking like a squad who could win the NFC and go on to play in the Super Bowl. Should that happen, they’ll need Cobb ready to go so he can help everyone out in bringing home the Lombardi Trophy.
