Packers: Depressing stat puts Aaron Rodgers’ dominance of Bears in perspective

Things have not been going well for the Chicago Bears since Aaron Rodgers made his first start for the Green Bay Packers.

Back in Week 6, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers taunted the Chicago Bears fanbase at Soldier Field, saying that he “owned” them after scoring a rushing touchdown. It is no secret that Rodgers has enjoyed some great success whenever he lined up against the Bears. But this one stat shows just how bad things have been in Chicago.

Ever since Rodgers got his first career start back in 2008, the Bears have trotted out 16 different quarterbacks to start under center. The latest to do so is rookie and 11th-overall selection Justin Fields.

Bears fans are well aware of the organization’s inability to find their long-term starter. They are hoping that Fields is that guy, considering they traded a ton of draft capital to the New York Giants to move up from the No. 20 spot to No. 11 in this year’s NFL Draft.

When it comes to playing against Chicago, Rodgers simply thrives. Prior to kickoff on Sunday, Rodgers threw for 6,208 yards, 57 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 26 career starts versus the Bears. Rodgers held a 21-5 overall recored against Chicago entering Week 14.

Entering this game, the Bears have not defeated Rodgers and the Packers since Week 15 of the 2018 season. The quarterback starting under center for Chicago was 2017 second-overall pick Mitchell Trubisky. In that game, Trubisky completed 20-of-28 pass attempts for 235 yards and two touchdowns in the 24-17 victory.

The Bears and their fanbase without a doubt hope that the number of quarterbacks they started since Rodgers’ first start stays at 16 for a long time.
