Raiders’ Henry Ruggs III involved in serious car accident
Retired NFL quarterback Philip Rivers has surprisingly come out and said he’d be open to potentially playing for the New Orleans Saints.
This is sure to raise plenty of eyebrows out there among NFL circles. While Philip Rivers decided to retire at the end of last season with the Indianapolis Colts, is it possible we haven’t seen the last of him tossing touchdowns?
On Tuesday, insider Sam Farmer came out and said that Rivers would be open to listening to the New Orleans Saints if the team called him to try and convince him out of retirement. While Rivers hasn’t heard from the team yet, this really could be something.
Philip Rivers tells me he hasn’t heard from the Saints but would listen.

Philip Rivers could replace Jameis Winston as the team’s starter the rest of the season
This surprising Rivers update comes after the Saints were dealt the massive injury blow with Jameis Winston. In the stunning win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, Winston went down following a horse-collar tackle in the first half and tried limping off the field.
Instead, he fell to the turf in a ton of pain. It has since been revealed that Winston will be out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL. It’s simply brutal news for the Saints, as Winston had powered the team to a 4-2 record ahead of Week 8.
With Winston sidelined against the Bucs, Trevor Siemian stepped in and completed 16-of-29 passes for 159 yards and a touchdown in the win. Is Siemian the answer for this team the rest of the way, though?
With New Orleans at 5-2 right now, they’re in the hunt to potentially win the NFC South title. Rivers knows this, which is why he might have some interest in ditching the golf course to put the pads on. Stay tuned to see if anything comes from this, folks.
