Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley isn’t in action for the Week 8 showdown going up against the Carolina Panthers.

Some concerning news came in for the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday morning. With the team all set to take on the Carolina Panthers, fans were ready to watch Calvin Ridley put on a show catching the ball from Matt Ryan.

However, seemingly out of nowhere, Atlanta announced that Ridley was going to miss the game. Ridley wasn’t on the injury report this weekend either, so the Atlanta supporters were confused as to why he wasn’t suiting up.

Calvin Ridley personal matter has him out of action again for the Falcons

Per the Falcons, Ridley is dealing with a personal matter and that’s why he isn’t with the team right now. Ridley has now missed two games for Atlanta this season. While on ESPN, insider Adam Schefter sure made it sound like Ridley could miss an extended period of time.

What is going on with Calvin Ridley?

It’s unclear what kind of personal issue Ridley is dealing with, but clearly it’s something serious enough where the Falcons are more than fine letting him be away from the team during what looks to be a difficult time for him.

On the campaign, Ridley has hauled in 31 balls for 281 yards and two touchdowns. With Julio Jones leaving town and now making plays for the Tennessee Titans this fall, Ridley was expected to have a monster year for Atlanta as the team’s go-to receiver option.

Now, though, Ridley’s status moving forward for 2021 really feels like it’s up in the air. No one knows when he’ll end up returning to the Falcons to make his usual standout plays. This is certainly going to be something to monitor in the coming weeks for the coaching staff.
