Which coaches are on the NFL hot seat after Week 14? When you can’t instill confidence in next season, the heat has to turn up.

After 14 weeks, coaches don’t have many excuses left to make this season.

If they’re on the NFL hot seat now, it’s for very good reason.

Whether it’s because of a string of bad decisions, questionable personnel moves or overall chaos, these coaches are clearly facing the heat.

Joe Judge

Joe Judge is in his second season as the Giants head coach. Plenty of fans in New York hope it’s his last.

The Giants have been consistently uninspiring under Judge. They’re in last place in the NFC East and took a first-half beating from the Chargers on Sunday. The story felt familiar with the offense and defense stumbling in equal measure.

Specific criticism on Sunday revolved around Judge’s decision-making. Once again he chose to punt in a fourth-and-short situation across midfield when he could have gone for it and given the offense some momentum. That he sent the offense out initially to fake a fourth-down attempt felt insulting. It got even worse when he actually attempted a fake punt on fourth-and-nine in his own territory.

Judge looks out of his depth as NY’s head coach. The question is how long the Giants’ decision-makers give him to prove otherwise.
