The Denver Broncos can no longer accept Vic Fangio as the head coach to get them over the top.

After a solid 3-0 start, that proved to be a mirage for Vic Fangio and the Denver Broncos.

Apparently, the New York Giants, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New York Jets are among the very worst teams in the NFL. Since beating Gang Green three weeks ago, the Broncos have lost to the Baltimore Ravens, the Pittsburgh Steelers and now the Las Vegas Raiders. This latest loss was especially damning, as the Silver and Black had to navigate the embarrassing Jon Gruden scandal.

With Denver expected to miss the AFC playoffs for the sixth year in a row, here is who can replace their underperforming head coach in 2022.

Vic Fangio hot seat: 3 replacements for Denver Broncos head coach in 2022

Eric Bieniemy

Offensive Coordinator Kansas City Chiefs Kansas City Chiefs

Eric Bieniemy has Colorado ties, coaches in the division and is ready for this job

At this point, it is truly embarrassing that Eric Bieniemy is not an NFL head coach. He has been on the radar to become one since the 2018 season. While he could have been his alma mater’s head coach entering 2020, Bieniemy wisely decided to bide his time coaching the best quarterback in football and learning under the best offensive mind in the sport on the Kansas City Chiefs staff.

While Denver general manager George Paton is new to the division, Broncos Country is well aware of what the former star running back can do as a coordinator. Though it is debatable how much exactly is on his plate with Reid calling the plays, Bieniemy has been groomed for this big opportunity, much like any Reid disciple before him. Would he go coach an arch rival team, though?

Even if they will play twice a year, Chiefs Kingdom would get Bieniemy leaving them for Denver. He has been eyeing an opportunity like this for years. Factor in that he is one of the greatest players in Colorado Buffaloes history, and this move to Denver makes all the sense in the world. Should Denver consider Bieniemy for this gig? Yes, but there are no guarantees that the Broncos will.

Since the last two first-time head coaches failed, that may be what keeps Bieniemy out of Denver.
