The New York Giants are shutting down quarterback Daniel Jones for the season due to a neck injury.
The New York Giants are enduring their fifth straight season where they have lost 10 or more games. The team has been without their starting quarterback Daniel Jones, who has not played since the team’s 13-7 win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12. Now, he is done for the season.
ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reported on Monday that the Giants have shut down Jones for the remainder of the season due to a neck injury. The team officially announced the news shortly afterwards.

Jones suffered his neck injury on the second play of the aforementioned Eagles game, which was a keeper run. Even though he finished the game, he was diagnosed with a neck strain, and has missed every contest since.
The 2019 sixth-overall pick has dealt with his fair share of injuries since entering the league. He suffered an ankle injury late in his rookie season and missed two games last year due to ankle and hamstring injuries. Now, he is done for the season with this neck ailment.
Jones third-year ends with him completing 64.3-percent of his passes for 2,428 yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Giants head coach Joe Judge has gone with veteran Mike Glennon for their past three games against the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Chargers and Dallas Cowboys. In four appearances this season, Glennon threw for 673 yards, three touchdowns and seven interceptions. On Sunday, Glennon threw three interceptions in the 21-6 loss to the Cowboys.
Jake Fromm saw limited time against the Cowboys after Glennon was benched. He completed 6-of-12 pass attempts for 82 yards.
It remains to be seen whether the Giants give Fromm his first start of his NFL career, given that Judge said on Monday that he has not made a decision as to who will start in Week 16 against the Eagles.
