Bears fans loving glimpse into Packers future without Aaron Rodgers

While Packers fans are not loving the Jordan Love experience, Bears fans are over the moon about the future in Green Bay without Aaron Rodgers.

Perhaps the most depressing part of the early-season matchup between the Bears and Packers when Aaron Rodgers screamed “I own you” to the fans in Chicago was the fact that they couldn’t argue with him.

Since he took up the mantle in Green Bay for Brett Favre, Rodgers has been the boogeyman for the Bears, leading the Packers to sustained success while it’s been a rollercoaster, especially at quarterback, for Chicago.

On Sunday, however, Rodgers was out of the matchup against the Chiefs due to testing positive for COVID-19. That gave Bears fans their first on-field look at Jordan Love and the future of the Packers once Rodgers moves on, which could happen as soon as next year.

Suffice it to say, the Windy City was enjoying the Jordan Love experience.

These tweets pretty much capture the sentiment from Bears fans:

Hot take. Aaron Rodgers caught COVID on purpose to show everyone how bad Jordan Love is.

As a Bears fan. I can not wait for the future in GB.

Jordan Love isn’t very accurate is he?

Taking the Bear-goggles off a sec, I knew he’d look raw but he still very much looks like a project to me.

Who knows how another offseason helps his development before starting next season, but this hasn’t been promising. #GBvsKC #Packers

Love actually had better numbers than Patrick Mahomes through the first half but the Packers couldn’t sustain any drives with him at quarterback, hence how they ended up in a 13-0 hole.

No matter if you’re a Bears or Packers fan, though, Green Bay without Rodgers looked like a team that wouldn’t be close to the playoffs anytime soon. Love was erratic, inaccurate, and looked like the project still had quite a bit of work to be done before it’s completed.

Perhaps he develops further but, based on his first game, the fans in Chicago have to be salivating at the thought of the Packers finally having a mortal under center and now their team owner.
