The Kansas City Chiefs get some relief in the midst of a disappointing 1-2 start with the news that their head coach is ready to get back to work after an emergency hospital stay.

The Kansas City Chiefs are now 1-2 after a last-ditch effort turned up empty against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Following the 30-24 heartbreaker, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid began to feel ill. He skipped the postgame press conference and was evaluated by medical staff. After evaluation, Reid was transported to the hospital in an ambulance as a precaution.

Shortly after the news broke, Kansas City’s twitter delivered an update that their coach was “resting and in stable condition.”

Now comes more good news, as it was announced that Reid has been released from his overnight hospital stay.

Chiefs announce coach Andy Reid has been released from the hospital and is in “great spirits, he’s doing well.”

Chiefs say Reid will likely be back in the building for work at some point today or Tuesday.

Great news.

The Kansas City Chiefs get good news as head coach Andy Reid is released from brief hospital stay

This is great news and some much needed positivity for Reid and the Chiefs organization. Kansas City could really use their coach’s expertise as they navigate what is means to have a losing record for the first time since Patrick Mahomes became their starting quarterback.

Assuming all is well, Reid will be on the sidelines in Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon as Kansas City takes on the Eagles who play tonight against the Dallas Cowboys.

Hopefully the short hospital stay revealed a clean bill of health and Reid can guide Kansas City to success after a disappointing start to the season.
