Dallas Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones believes there is a chance that wide receiver CeeDee Lamb can play on Thanksgiving.

The Dallas Cowboys were feeling the absence of Amari Cooper during Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. But matters got much worse for Dallas after CeeDee Lamb was ruled out of the game due to a head injury. With the Cowboys playing on Thanksgiving against the Las Vegas Raiders, fans had to be wondering if the second-year wideout would be cleared for the game.

During an appearance on 105.3 The Fan, Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones said that Lamb is “doing really well” and will have a chance to play on Thursday afternoon.

Cowboys VP Stephen Jones said on @1053thefan that CeeDee Lamb (concussion protocol) is “doing really well” and will have an opportunity to play Thursday. “If he were having issues today then you’d probably be a little leery.” But they’re optimistic because he’s feeling well today

Lamb suffered his injury in the second quarter on a deep pass from quarterback Dak Prescott into the end zone. Lamb’s attempt to catch the ball was thwarted by Chiefs cornerback Charvarius Ward, who intercepted it. In the process, the second-year wideout landed hard in the end zone and smacked the back of his head off the turf. He has since been placed in concussion protocol.

Jones was not the only member of the Cowboys to express optimism in Lamb’s chances of playing. Head coach Mike McCarthy says that Lamb was in all of the team meetings on Monday.

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said WR CeeDee Lamb (concussion protocol) was in all of the team meetings today. A good sign he has a chance to play Thursday.

Safety Donovan Wilson (shoulder/chest) has been ruled out for Thursday.

The Cowboys passing attack is already short-handed due to Cooper being ruled out for the Raiders game after he tested positive for COVID-19 late last week. Being without Lamb could make a win much more difficult for the Cowboys.

This season, Lamb has recorded 50 rcatches for 740 yards and six touchdowns on 77 targets.

While Jones is optimistic that Lamb will play on Thanksgiving, it will all be dependent on him clearing concussion protocol. We should get a clearer picture in the coming days.
