The wind at Orchard Park, NY sent the opening kickoff of Monday’s New England Patriots-Buffalo Bills into the stands.
The Week 13 edition of Monday Night Football featured a battle between the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills. Even though the attention should be on the battle for first place in the AFC East, nearly everyone is focused on the insane wind at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, NY.
If you needed further evidence that it was extremely windy at the stadium, just take a look at how far the opening kickoff flew.
Strong winds at Bills-Patriots game sends opening kickoff into stands
The ball literally flew out of bands and into about the fifth row at the field level seats! The wind is no joke. Given the strong gusts, that means it’s going to be extremely difficult for the kickers to attempt field goals.
The Patriots capitalized by establishing the run, as Damien Harris ran 64-yards to the end zone on their third drive of the game to get on the board early. New England did not go for the extra point attempt, instead earning two points on a Brandon Bolden run.
Expect there to be plenty of fourth down and two-point conversion attempts on Monday night.
