The Minnesota Vikings sure are feeling themselves after recording an upset win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3. Kirk Cousins looked fantastic, lighting up the Seattle defense from start to finish in the victory.
With that said, Dalvin Cook may want to calm down a bit. On Wednesday, the star running back came out and gave a glowing review of his signal-caller’s play, going as far as to say that Cousins is playing like the best quarterback in the NFL right now. Oh boy.
#Vikings RB Dalvin Cook says he feels QB Kirk Cousins is the “best in the game” and is playing better than any quarterback in the NFL now.

Kirk Cousins is simply not the best quarterback in the NFL
While Cousins has looked strong thus far this campaign, we believe Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes and even Russell Wilson would like to have a word. Cook backing up his teammate like this is awesome, but it’s just not true.
We will give props to Cousins for his showing in Week 3, though, as he did toss for 328 yards and three touchdowns in the 30-17 win over the Seahawks. On the year, Cousins has 918 yards, eight touchdowns and no interceptions to his name. Heck yeah, he’s having a season to remember so far.
With that said, the Vikings are 1-2 and they look to be miles behind the Green Bay Packers. You could argue that the Kansas City Chiefs and Mahomes are also 1-2, but you’ve got to be drinking some serious Minnesota Kool-Aid if you think Cousins is better than Mahomes.
Cousins very well could end up balling out and make us eat our words here. Cook will be ready to tell plenty of people, ‘I told you so,’ as well. Only time will tell if that happens.
