Skip Bayless, Stephen A. Smith and NFL Twitter reacted to the Green Bay Packers earning a huge Week 2 win over the Detroit Lions on Monday night.

The Green Bay Packers started off their season on the wrong foot, as they were embarrassed by the New Orleans Saints in Week 1. After hearing the critics and detractors throughout the week, the Packers decided to use that energy to take it out on the rival Detroit Lions.

Sure enough, that is exactly what happened, as the Packers defeated the Lions 35-17 to earn their very first win of the 2021 season. With the offense waking up, that left many on social media buzzing, including Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith.

Two great throws by Aaron Rodgers on that drive. He’s no Brady. But that was vintage Rodgers.

Aaron Rodgers is so great in regular-season home games when his team is a 12-point favorite over a team that has now lost its two best cornerbacks.

Does anyone still remember what Aaron Rodgers did in the 4th quarter of last season’s NFC Championship Game AT LAMBEAU? First & goal at the 8? Second & goal? Third & goal? I know, ancient history.

R-E-L-A-X, Packer Nation. Until January.

FINAL: Packers 35, Lions 17

It was Aaron Rodgers’ 7th career game with at least 4 TDs and an 80% completion rate –one shy of Drew Brees and Peyton Manning for the most in NFL history, per @ESPNStatsInfo

— 115 total yards
— 4 total touchdowns

As you can see, there were plenty that loved what they saw from the Packers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers, including ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith. However, there was one party-pooper on Twitter on Monday night in the form of FOX Sports’ Skip Bayless. From diminishing the victory due to Detroit’s depleted secondary to bringing up what Rodgers did on that fateful drive in the NFC Championship Game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Rodgers completed 22-of-27 of his pass attempts for 255 yards and four touchdowns. Running back Aaron Jones was the star of the game, as he rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries, while catching all six of his targets from Rodgers for 48 yards and three touchdowns.

With their first win in the books, the Packers will now prepare for their Week 3 opponents in the San Francisco 49ers.
