The Denver Broncos look to pull off another upset against an AFC West foe on Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Well, here we are again. We picked the Denver Broncos to lose, and they found a way to pull off a massive upset. The Broncos defeated the Los Angeles Chargers by the score of 28-13 behind a dominant performance by their defense. Most notably, they forced star quarterback Justin Herbert to throw two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown.

Now, the Broncos pivot from one AFC west foe to another, as they are set to play the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night. After a slow start to the season, the Chiefs have been on a roll with the defense finally clicking and the offense running on all cylinders again. Can the Broncos pull off yet another upset?

Here are five bold predictions for Broncos against Chiefs.

Pat Surtain II records an interception for second-consecutive week

Denver’s defense continued their streak of making things difficult for Herbert. On Sunday, no one gave him more trouble than rookie cornerback Pat Surtain II.

In the second half, Herbert orchestrated a 13-play drive down to Denver’s 23-yard line. On the final play, the Chargers’ second-year quarterback threw a pass intended for tight end Jared Cook, but it was intercepted by Surtain.

On Los Angeles’ ensuing drive after Denver extended their lead to 21-7, Herbert thew a pass to running back Austin Ekeler that was just a little bit out of reach. The ball tipped off his fingers, and Surtain picked it off and returned it 70-yards for the touchdown.

The ninth-overall pick is really shining in Denver’s secondary. Now, he gets to face off against the former NFL MVP-winning quarterback in Patrick Mahomes. It is entirely possible that Surtain records an interception for the second-consecutive game.
