The Cleveland Browns lose Kareem Hunt, adding to a long list of players unavailable to play in the game against the Arizona Cardinals

In the fourth quarter of the game between the Cleveland Browns and Arizona Cardinals, Browns running back Kareem Hunt suffered a non-contact injury. After the failed fourth-down conversion, Hunt remained laying on the field grabbing his calf.

Hunt was tended to by the training staff and the former Kansas City Chief was carried off the field, unable to put any weight on his right leg. After a quick evaluation on the sideline, he was carted to the locker room.

The Cleveland Browns quickly ruled him out for the rest of the game with a calf injury.

Kareem Hunt injury: Who is the Browns third-string RB?

The Cleveland Browns roster is starting to wear thin, especially at running back. Nick Chubb was out this week with a calf injury of his own, and after Hunt’s departure, all the Browns in the backfield are D’Ernest Johnson and rookie Demetric Felton.

The Browns’ goal for most of their game with the Arizona Cardinals likely was just to survive. With a long injury report already, they could not afford the plethora of injuries and injury scares they saw in this game.

Most notably, Baker Mayfield was taken off of the field in the third quarter and into the medical tent to evaluate a shoulder injury. Although he did return to the game, his discomfort is evident and will play a role in the Browns’ upcoming short week as they prepare to play the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football in Week 7
