The New York Giants lost wide receiver Sterling Shepard in the first half of Monday Night Football against the Chiefs because of a quad injury.

Giants fans watching New York take on Kansas City on Monday Night Football might have been wondering where wide receiver Sterling Shepard was.

With the Giants trailing the Chiefs by four at the half, Daniel Jones could have used one of his top wide receivers.

The injury bug had other plans.

Is Sterling Shepard injured?

Unfortunately for the Giants, yes. Shepard hurt his quad at the end of the first half.

He stayed down in pain but was able to walk to the sideline. He slowly made his way to the locker room before the team confirmed he would miss the rest of the game after the start of the third quarter.

The extend of Shepard’s injury wasn’t shared, but it was bad enough to keep him out for two critical quarters in a close game against the Chiefs. That’s not a great sign.

Shepard is second among the Giants in receiving yards with 299 yards. He leads the team with 28 receptions.

In his six-year NFL career, Shepard has struggled with availability at times. He’s only played all 16 games twice since the Giants drafted him in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
