While the Dallas Cowboys were able to take down the New York Giants, it’s clear Dak Prescott needs to step his game up.
The Dallas Cowboys are 10-4 on the year and things sure are looking good for Jerry Jones. Well, not so fast. On Sunday, Dallas was able to take down the New York Giants, but let’s be real, the G-Men are one of the worst teams in the conference.
Yes, a win is a win, but the play of Dak Prescott sure left plenty to be desired. Matter of fact, Prescott’s performances in recent weeks haven’t been what fans have been hoping to see. With that, Prescott really does need to pick things up if he wants to power Dallas to a deep postseason run.
Cowboys fans aren’t convinced with the play of Dak Prescott
Last week against the Washington Football Team, Prescott tossed for 211 yards, one touchdown, but two interceptions. That was rough to see. Then on Sunday against New York, Prescott finished with just 217 yards and a touchdown, which went to rising tight end Dalton Schultz.
While getting the road win was crucial, this isn’t going to be enough from Prescott once the playoffs are here. Imagine the Cowboys having to travel to Green Bay, Tampa Bay or another rough environment come January. Prescott throwing for one touchdown and 217 yards won’t power this squad to a victory.
For the Cowboys to have a shot at actually competing for the No. 1 seed in the NFC this year, and potentially pushing for a Super Bowl, Prescott is going to have to live up to the massive four-year contract he signed this past offseason.
If he doesn’t and continues to operate at a mediocre level, there’s no way Dallas will be considered serious players this winter. Prescott is being paid as one of the best signal-callers in the game. It’s time for him to start acting like it.
